The
Circle Number One
Celtic Brooch
This circle design was taken from a
faceplate in the Book of Durrow. A faceplate was a heavily
decorated page used to separate the gospels or sections of a manuscript. Celtic
Knots are generally formed of an endless line signifying the binding of the soul
to the world and the spiritual progress of humanity through endless lives in
search of the divine source, the sacred center. Some people view interlacing
knots as a representation of the cosmic loom, symbolizing the existence of the
spirit through time, and space, and lifetimes.
